Aaron Rodgers is the BadaSSitude Pro Football Player of Week 13

Congratulations to Aaron Rodgers, #12 Quarterback for the Green Bay Packers, The BadaSSitude Pro Football Player of Week 13. Again! Back in Week 4, he won the honor, has been nominated several times since and here he is again, unsurprisingly, garnering the honor.

It is easy to forget that Rodgers is only in his 4th year as a started for the Green Bay Packers. He was drafted 24th in 2005 (only allegedly because the Packers were unable to find a team willing to trade up to that draft position!). He had to wait till 20008 and for Bret Favre to move on before he would start. Three years later, Aaron Rodgers led the Green Bay Packers to the Superbowl and a 31-25 win against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Rodgers was named MVP Superbowl XLV MVP.

The last game Green Bay lost in which Aaron Rodgers played was a 7-3 loss at Detroit on December 12, 2010, a game in which Aaron Rodgers was knocked out with a concussion in the second quarter. They also went on to lose their next game the following week on December 18 against New England without Aaron Rodgers. Aaron started every game after that brief spell for the Green Bay Packers and the team has not lost a game since. The Packer are now on an 18-game winning streak dating back to almost a year. Thus far in the 2011 season, Green Bay are unbeaten and they have made look easy. Rodgers, to hear the experts tell it, is playing just about as flawlessly as it is possible to play quarterback.

In 12 games this season, Aaron Rodgers has complete 288 of 408 passes for 3844 yards, a lofty completion percentage of 70.6, 37 touchdowns, 5 interceptions and a near record QB rating of 125.3. He is on page to break the regular season touchdown record. With four games to go, there is no reason that he should not set the record. He could surpass the passer rating record and set new standards for quarterback BadaSSitude. He has chance to lead the Packers to a record setting unbeaten season book-ended by 2 Superbowls.

We are so used to seeing Rodgers lead the Green Bay Packers, we almost forgot his excellence whenever he has needed a comeback to win. We saw that against the Giants. With the game tied at 35 and 58 seconds left in the game, it took Rodgers only 2 plays to get his team into field goal territory. For the game, Rodgers completed 28 of 46 passes for 369 yards 4 touch downs and a quarterback rating of 106.2. The Packers won the game 38 – 35. It is for this that Aaron Rodgers, #12 Quarterback for the Green Bay Packers is The BadaSSitude Pro Football Player of Week 13.
