If you are placing a bet on which NFL coach will be fired first this season, put your money on Jacksonville Jaguars coach Gus Bradley. If you are putting your money on the next starting quarterback to get benched and eventually shipped off, Blake Bortles would be a good bet too. It’s Year Four under Bradley and his record is 14-41. Bortles is in Year Three and he is 10-27.
Teams often make changes at these two key positions too soon and too often. The Cleveland Browns are a good example of that. They seem to be stuck in rebuilding mode year after year. But ot looks as though Bortles is a bust. Yet another one in the long line of Jags first round busts. And it looks like Bradley just cannot get them going in the right direction. They won two in a row after knocking off the Colts and Bears, but since then they were blown out by the Raiders and Titans. Last night at Tennessee they were down 27-0 at the half. It was the third time (at least) that they have failed to score in the first half. Twice they went into the fourth quarter with no points. That just should not happen in the NFL.
The Jags have stunk for so long it’s hard to remember them ever being good. Rumors had the team moving to either Los Angeles or Las vegas a few years ago, but that looks like it won’t happen now. This team is so bad that may not have been a good break for Jacksonville. If they can’t get rid of the team, they should at least get rid of the coaching staff. They obviously have no answers. While they are at it, take the GM or whoever makes their draft picks with them.
Jacksonville is in the worst division in football with the Colts, Titans and Texans and they still have no chance of making the playoffs. 9-7 would win this thing, but they won’t even sniff 7-9. It’s a wonder they have anyone left in the stands at home games. I guess the fans just like to go hang out in the swimming pools?
