Robert Griffin III is in New Orleans at the NFL Honors award show on Super Bowl Saturday night, where he is winning and accepting the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Award. He did an interview with Rich Eisen of the NFL Network, he is up and walking without crutches, and he said that he is doing good, that the rehab and recovery is going pretty well and going ahead of schedule.
When asked what his timetable and goal for a return is he said that Week 1 of the 2013 NFL season is when he plans to be back on the field playing. We pretty much expected that when Dr. Andrews said that he expected Griffin to be back for the 2013 season, but some were skeptical because he didn’t specifically say when in the season he should be back.
So it’s always good to hear straight from the horses mouth. Griffin plans to push himself hard but also walk that fine line between pushing the limit as far as possible and actually crossing that line so he doesn’t have any setbacks. It’s been hard to get much news on RG3 since he has had surgery so the interview and update from RG3 should comfort all of Redskins nation…for a few weeks at least until another update is given on his rehab status.
